The visionary game developer, the mind behind the immensely successful franchise Call of Duty, has tragically died in a vehicle crash in the state of California at the age of 55.

His passing was announced by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, a game studio which he helped establish.

The influential game designer died after his car crashed and burst into flames on a freeway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday, according to.
