This Swine Life: Pig Named 6-7 Spared by Miami-Dade Leader.

Although not quite at the equivalent scale as sparing Thanksgiving turkeys, but the county's top official conducted a Donald Trump moment this week by ritually sparing the life of a pig named Six Seven.

Daniella Levine Cava performed the seasonal stunt at the Cuban-style Latin Cafe 2000 in the core of Miami’s iconic Little Havana neighborhood.

“The swine has done no wrong. She deserves this act of mercy. No offenses are on her docket,” Levine Cava said in a speech with inescapable allusions to the vast quantity of executive clemencies issued from the start of the beginning of a second term in office.

“Except perhaps for eating six or seven apples per day,” she went on. “I hope she experiences a lengthy and joyful existence without fear.”

The gathering, simultaneously observing and challenging the local cultural practice of feasting on pork during the holidays, was created to emulate the annual turkey pardoning at the White House.

The pig, donated by a first responder, was given its name from the popular vernacular phrase of young people shouting “six seven” – inspired by a musical verse – often for no discernable reason. The craze became so widespread that a leading lexicon site recently declared “6-7” its top term for the year.

A New Life

Six Seven the pig is now scheduled to spend its days at a rural sanctuary “away from grills and cookware”, according to the organizers' announcement.

“This swine clemency has become a cherished method to kick off the festive period,” said the cafe owner, in a notably cheerful message.

“It represents the essence of Miami: vibrant, diverse, and rooted in traditions that unite the community. Each year, we are delighted to mark culture and compassion in a way distinctively Miamian.”

Participants enjoyed a meat-free selection of spinach croquetas and Cuban coffee as they toasted the pig's pardon.
