Beloved Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at Age 60.

Stateside performer Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic television series such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.

The comedic improv actor died at home in LA recently after undergoing cancer treatment from 2022 onward, per media reports.

"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones said in a statement.

They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".

A Notable Television Career

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.

He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.

In the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several hit series, like:

  • King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • "That '70s Show"
  • "House"

He was most recognized for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.

His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Beyond the Screen

Away from his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.

He was a member of a six-member improv team called "Beer Shark Mice".

"Pat coached, befriended and mentored countless students over the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he shared on social media.

The actor is survived by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
